Holiday homes in Hansjö

 

We want to create a destination and a new landmark in one of Orsa Grönklitt's best locations. The project is intended to attract a new target group with a focus on experiences, physical activities, socializing and environmentally conscious choices. ​

 

We emanated from the classic building forms from the North of Sweden as well as gathered inspiration from the contemporary architecture of international ski resorts. Where the buildings have dignity, integrity and the plans are robust and last over time. To that, we have added playful details and functions that give energy, identity and put the buildings in a new contemporary ring. Patterns, reliefs and surfaces play against each other and large roof domes contrast with classic gable roofs. ​ ​

 

The conditions of the detailed plan provide six slim and spacious house bodies that provide very good daylight conditions as all apartments extend over at least one corner. We have grouped the buildings in groups of three and created two rows with different twists on the houses. Everything to optimize the views towards the mountain environment and let the preserved nature into the area. Between the building volumes, three intimate courtyard rooms are created that function both as an entrance square and a communication area.
